Terms of Service

Last updated: June 19, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Syncync, an independently operated service. By creating an account or using the Syncync website or Chrome extension, you agree to them.

Your account

You need an account to start or join a room. Keep your login details secure — you're responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Syncync. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

What Syncync does (and doesn't)

Syncync synchronises the playback position of Netflix and YouTube across the people in a room and adds a video call and chat on top. It does not host, stream, store, decrypt, or re-broadcast any video content. Everyone in a room watches through their own browser and their own access to the underlying service.

Syncync is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix, YouTube, Google, or any other streaming service. All trademarks belong to their owners.

Acceptable use

To use Syncync, you agree that:

  • You and each person in your room hold your own valid access to the content you watch (for example, your own Netflix subscription or freely available YouTube videos), and you follow that service's own terms.
  • You will not use Syncync to circumvent any DRM, paywall, or access control, or to copy, download, or redistribute content.
  • You will not harass, abuse, or share illegal or infringing material in chat or on camera.
  • You will not abuse, overload, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or attempt to break the service or its infrastructure.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules or put the service or its users at risk.

Free and Premium

Syncync has a free tier (with a daily watch-time limit) and a Premium subscription at $3 / month, billed through Stripe. Premium unlocks unlimited watch time and a best-effort boost to your webcam quality. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; access continues until the end of the period you've paid for. The price is intentionally low — it exists to keep the servers running, not to turn a profit.

14-day right of withdrawal (EU/EEA/UK). If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the right to withdraw from a Premium purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason, for a full refund. Because Premium is a digital service that starts immediately, by upgrading you ask us to begin it right away and acknowledge that your withdrawal right ends once the service has been fully performed; where it is still running, we may deduct an amount proportionate to what you've used. To exercise this right, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase. Outside these regions, and except where your local law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable.

Availability & changes

Syncync is a small, independently run service. We may change, pause, or discontinue features, and a third-party streaming service may change in ways that temporarily break sync. We'll do our best to keep things working but can't guarantee uninterrupted service.

Disclaimers

Syncync is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that it will be error-free or always available, or that sync will be perfect with every video.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syncync and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Syncync. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Morocco. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Morocco, unless mandatory local consumer law gives you other rights.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know. Questions? Email [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy.
